Motion:Motions to Consider:
That the Board of School Directors directs administration to create an additional health course with a .5 credit value to go into effect for the Class of 2012 and beyond. The .5 credit increase in health would reduce the number of electives for all students by .5 credits, leaving a balance of 28 credits for graduation for all students.
That the Board of School Directors directs administration to create a period of instruction prior to the traditional start of the instructional day that would be the same length as other instructional periods. This new period, prior to the start of school, would be named Period Zero. The Administration then needs to prepare an agreement with WCEA to staff Period Zero for PE in each high school and implement the staffing for the 2008-2009 school year.
OR
That the Board of School Directors directs administration to staff “PE Through Activity” with Health / PE certificated teachers beyond the contractual day for the 2008-2009 school year for assessment of student athletes.
