Mrs. Berry and Mr. Waterman have been talking the past few years about projects that would provide for better student motivation, and enhanced mastery of competencies. The BCO Occupational Advisory committee was invited to a picnic this summer to explore projects that would provide real life experiences. Ideas discussed were building and selling a hunting camp; working with the community under the guidance of Habitat for Humanity; and developing a three year project of building and selling a modular ranch home. To continue this vision these projects would take board approval and financial resources. WCCC’s goal and motivation is to:
a. Receive CIT support to develop a proposal to explore the opportunities for building a camp, for working with Habitat for Humanity and/or to develop a three year housing project.
b. Receive CIT support that after the proposal reviews that the Board would provide the direction of their support and acknowledge that a financial commitment would be built into the 2010-2011 budget.
WCCC has the full support of the BCO occupational advisory committee to enhance the learning experiences of our students.
