3.10 Interdistrict agreement with IU#5
Meeting :
Aug 30, 2010 - Curriculum, Instruction, and Technology Committee
Category :
3. New Business
Recommended Action :
That the Warren County School District Board of Directors approve the Interdistrict agreement with Northwest IU#5 to provide Title I services at St. Joseph School with the funding to be paid from the Title I grant.
Public Content
This is a renewal of the agreement we had last school year with IU#5 for them to serve the Title I students at
St. Joseph School. The IU already has a teacher going there for other services. This will extend her time with the students. If we were to use these limited funds to send a District teacher, the limited time it would fund would be very ineffective for students.
Attorney Byham has reviewed the agreement.

Public Content
The WAN Mini-Grant for STEM Projects is being funded by an E-Fund Grant received by the Northwest Tri-County Intermediate Unit #5. The intent is to fund professional development opportunities in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) that will impact STEM understanding and awareness in grades 7-12.
IU5 has created the WAN Mini-Grant to allow districts to create a team that will attend STEM professional development, and then present STEM-related professional development activities to their staff during 2010-11 and 2011-12 school years.
Team members are recommended be no more than 5-7 in size, and would include:
*A secondary counselor
*One or more secondary administrators
*Secondary department heads in math, science, and technology.
IU5 is asking for year One plans from districts by November 15, 2010, in order to provide funding.
