The Warren County School District, working with the AEC Group, has implemented a number of improvements in areas such as Citrix deployment and server virtualization. The AEC Group has been on-site throughout the project, aiding in installation and deployment, as well as providing technical assistance and guidance as the district technology staff familiarizes itself with the administration and support of the new systems.
The department is proposing a three-month Help Desk Support contract with AEC Group, to start on September 1, 2011, to provide district technology staff access to technical support related to the new systems. Access to the AEC Group Help Desk will be important if there are issues that cause system downtime. The experience of the AEC Group in Citrix and virtualization, as well as its familiarity with the district project and related system quirks, will ensure quick resolution to such issues that might currently be outside the ability of the WCSD technology staff to quickly resolve on its own.
Help desk services will include:
• 8:30 am – 5:00 pm coverage, Monday – Friday
• Unlimited help desk incident submissions
• Reduced rate on-site or remote support; 8:30 am – 5:00 pm
• Two (2) hour response to confirm logging of queued support requests
• Up to six (6) hours of support for each submitted incident
• Access to an emergency/after hours/holiday response team
• Problem tracking/reporting
• Technical expertise and knowledge base
The Help Desk Support contract will fill the gap left by the resignation of the former WCSD Technology/Information Systems Specialist. The administration will use the contract period to determine how best to address the position vacancy moving forward.

These purchases include school supplies and copy paper for the 2011-2012 school year. Year over year reduction for the Joint Purchasing of school supplies is $2,662.82 2012 vs. 2011 and a copy paper cost reduction of $24,635.64, 2012 vs. 2011. The total reduction of IU5 purchases for the 2012 vs 2011 school year is $27,298.46.

This resolution is to kick off the 2012-2013 budget process while using the work that was done for the 2011-2012 budget as the foundation. Key areas to address while beginning this process include:

The Warren County School District has changed cell phone vendors. As a result, the previous vendor’s phones have been replaced with handsets from the new vendor. All cell phones targeted for donation were acquired at no charge to the district as part of the service plan.
AMVETS Post #50 in Sugar Grove has submitted a written request to the district, asking that the phones from the previous vendor be donated to their organization. AMVETS maintains a collection system for cell phones, which are refurbished and provided to local military veterans for emergency calling use.
